Lighting help

I'm making some test maps to practice detailing in TF2 and realized I've never utilized lots of lighting when making a map (my other maps have been completely outside with minimal indoor spaces). After watching a few small tutorials I tried to light up my map's hallways and ran into this "hill lighting" as I call it along the walls and inside other rooms. I wanted to see if anyone could help with making the lights look more natural. (I've messed with Inner and Outer fading angle to no avail, as well as looking around some official valve maps)
