How much money is worth this level of reputational damage?
I haven’t seen this question in a while, so, let’s speculate.
What kind of salary is being offered to the crew where they feel comfortable risking a lasting career in media for the H3 stain? Aside from Dan who did work as an assistant, Ethan picked members for his team that had no real background in media and gave them an avenue to produce content, do live audio, SEO, etc all while being an on camera personality. I understand that most of them may be functioning in a sense of arrested development, but at what point do they look at their goals in a career and reckon with the big bold “H3” that is their resume? Since a career in media is largely networking, when do they start to give a shit about what comes next?
It feels really predatory the way that Ethan seems eager to ostracize AB & lena from streamers they were friendly with…. and Olivia from people in her corner like Adam. That being said, I totally believe that they could find support outside of the dying h3 media empire if they actually take the time to reach out to those connections and take a stance for their future. If a salary upwards of 150k (what a producer in LA should make, or at least a stake in revenue) isn’t what is keeping them there, at that point, it has to be sheer negligence.
I’m not totally convinced that the money is green. I think that the crew is staying because they aren’t willing to take the leap out of a comfortable brand and it will end up costing them a career in the end.
But let’s talk lol. How much do you think the crew is making ? Do you think it’s the determining factor in their co-signing of h3? Who’s the next one to leave?
