Found abandoned guinea pig
Hi! I found a guinea pig (not sure if it’s male or female) at my apartment complex yesterday that I’m pretty sure was abandoned. I messaged a group chat for this building in the complex & left notes on doors but no one has contacted me.
I did a little research, got timothy hay & guinea pig pellets and some parsley and cilantro. Will probably end up taking the piggy to an animal rescue/or shelter tomorrow.
If anyone has any other advice on what to do with an abandoned guinea pig please let me know! I can’t keep it.
The guinea pig seems sweet but is really skittish (understandably). It flinches and will run away if you try to touch it— any advice on getting them less scared? He was running around making happy noises earlier and crawled over me at one point so not TOO scared but definitely still skittish.
This picture is from last night so the space/food for him the piggy is better today.
