Moving to disposable bedding?

Hi all! I've been using fleece and bath mats in my guinea pigs' cage for quite a while. Unfortunately, the laundry aspect has been quite difficult for me.

I have a very small top-load washing machine in my apartment which doesn't fit a laundry bag and barely fits a couple of bath mats. So I'm doing 4 or 5 loads at a time. The machine doesn't handle hay very well, even though I try to brush off as much hat as possible.

I'm a PhD student dealing with some mental health issues nd I'm quite stressed lately, so I'm hoping paper bedding could make my life easier.

I know some people say paper bedding is worse on piggies' feet, which I'm concerned about. Even on fleece, my pig has had bumblefoot twice. Does anyone know if this will be a big issue?

I'm also interested in any advice on how to actually set up the paper bedding (what to put underneath it, if you use a raised-edge liner or anything like that.
