Food advice for an active dog with allergies (and can’t keep on weight)
Long story short, when I got my GSD from a rescue a little over a year ago I kept her on the Hills Science Diet Chicken & Brown Rice that they fed her. I’m not sure her stomach loved it (based on stool consistency) and she developed some skin issues (lots of itching, some hair loss). We settled on Apoquel to address the skin, and that’s been great. We also switched her to Purina Pro Plan Sensitive Skin & Stomach Salmon & Rice to bolster skin health and to address her stomach. However, her weight has dropped from a healthy 59 pounds to 53 over the course of 2 months. The vet wants her around 60. We’re trying Pro Plan Sport 30/20 Salmon & Rice, but I’m also open to suggestions. Not concerned about cost.
*Picture just bc she’s pretty 😍
