What should I be doing?

I've been playing the game really on and off since late 2.0(?) and now with 2.2 out I've started playing it more, but it feels like I'm really far back with everything that's been added. Since I've been playing on and off and have gone through multiple accounts (at least 3) I really do not have a lot of stuff and there's things that cost a lot of mana orbs that I'm unsure how I'll be getting, not to mention the 1k and 2k diamonds required to enter the new shops while I only have around 500, and paths costing 50k is completely out of the question, not to mention the many new chests that were added in the vault room. My hardest demon is still Clubstep and only now got a 92% run into ToE 2. So should I just keep playing? Are there any good ways to build up mana orbs and diamonds or is it just to play dalies and gauntlets etc? The answer feels obvious, just play more, but really any tips are appreciated :)
