So...what do you think of the whole Scott Cawthon situation?

So, if you are out of the loop, seems like Five Nights at Freddy's creator donated money to republican politicians like Mitch McConnell and Donald Trump. Honestly, I'm not that surprised since he always has been transparent about his religious beliefs, but what bugs me is his response to this "controversy", which I find kinda hypocritical. I'm not even american, so maybe I lack the understanding of all the nuances and complexities of USA politics, but I can't stand creators that take advantage of LGBT+ audiences (which in the FnaF fanbase is a lot) and then donate your money to people that will actively oppress said part of the audience? I get you may not agree fully with politicians, but you can claim you love your LGBT and POC fans and then help to put in jeopardy their most basic rights? I'm also frustrated by the response of half of the community too, which got right to support him claiming that "nobody's perfect", "he doesn't intend wrong" and other apologetic bs. I love FnaF, its lore, the games etc, but I can't support someone like this, its just unethical to me. Am I overreacting?
