American Forestry Abroad - Where to study?
Hi all - I'm interested studying forestry. My background is in business, technology (software), & I believe forestry / sustainability has overlap & opportunity given our country's dependance on forests and the rapid rate they are deteriorating - ESG, regulations, sustainability efforts, etc. are all growing focuses.
I'm interested in West Coast programs, but with the opportunity to study abroad in Australia or New Zealand. I hear as long as a program is a SAF accredited program, then you're learning the same things. Is that true? (Trying to factor in value, cost, etc.). Granted, I believe any schooling abroad would be significantly cheaper than in the states.
Are there any prestigious forestry schools on the west coast with established / well-known study abroad opportunities?
Would there be any way to do my undergraduate at a school in AUS/NZ and that experience translate in America, or are the curriculums too different?
Any thoughts / insight is truly appreciated - thank YOU!
NOTE: I see Oregon State has some options for study abroad in AUS/NZ, and Northern Arizona has a partnership w/ Southern Cross Uni in NSW, AUS.
