so much eerie calm around me

When I visit this thread it aint nothing but gloom and doom . There are people threatening suicides here. people are asking how to download their documents . but my work is so calm. it is as if nothing happened. they are making job related timeline for 6 months from now. its as if there is some eerie calm around me but nothing aint out of ordinary .
I cant wrap my head around this difference .
