ELI5 how do people take fentanyl when a lethal dose looks like a couple grains of sand?

I’ve come across some videos of ex fentanyl addicts and I’m just confused as I always thought it was something that people got laced with that caused OD, obviously I’m talking non therapeutic, street form. Basically I’m wondering how it is consumed for people who buy it off the street as when you see the images of lethal heroin vs fent doses it’s tiny.
