Is the inconvenience of EZDrummer worth it?

I have an SPD-SX Pro (+ kick & hi-hat pedals) that serves as my entire kit because of my limited space. However, the stock kits aren’t great.

Should I find a sampled kit somewhere and upload those samples to my SPD? I don't need versatility — just one or two quality kits. (And if so, where can I find a well-recorded, multi-sampled kit for not much money?)

OR, should I say "fuck it" to curating the perfect kit on the imperfect SPD and just get EZDrummer while it's on sale? I've never used a drum VST before and having to boot up my laptop every time I wanted to play would be a drag but certainly not impossible.
