Can't save maps

I just got Dungeondraft today and it works great, but I can save or export anything. Everything else seems to be working as intended, but the save buttons just do nothing when I click them. I think I have a basic idea of the issue, but I could be wrong and I don't know how to fix it if I'm right.

When I first opened up Dungeondraft it gave be a welcome message, but it had no clear way of exiting. From what I've heard it should come with a X or something that I click to close the message, and hitting that X is needed to make the program work. I just with ESC and that got out, but I'm not sure if exiting that way messed anything up.

I'm getting this from a single comment on a few ear old post about this same issue, so its very likely that I'm completely wrong about this. I am running on windows 8.1, but my PC has the other requirements filled out, and when using Wonder draft it works just fine, so I don't think that is the issue. I have already tried downgrading to 1.0.3.2 and It doesn't fix anything

EDIT: after reinstalling multiple times to try out different fixes, it has randomly started working. I have no idea why so it may just be uninstalling and reinstalling the older version until it works.
