Do regular country lane drivers not care about their lives and cars?
I drove through a country lane last night because I didn't know the area and Google maps doesn't have an option to avoid the worst roads possible.
I drove through most of a 3 mile section at around 20 mph, top speed of 30 mph and slowing down to as little as 10mph and completely stopping at a little bridge which the locals may take 2 by 2 I don't know but I didn't. The road was dark, narrow, wet and bumpy. I felt like I was driving a shopping trolley. I was beeped at, overtaken and twice I stopped at bays at the side of the road to let the queue behind me pass.
When I left, I was told by the person who lived there to take a 7 mile detour instead on dual carriageways, so I did just that. Since I drove 50-70mph on the detour route, it took only probably 30 seconds more, if not nothing at all (with no stopping time) for me to drive an extra 7 miles.
I'm surprised more people don't die on that road and the locals surely must replace their suspension system 4 times a year or something.
