[DAV ACT 1 SPOILERS] Did anyone else notice a change in writing quality after 8 hours into the game?

So, I was one of the people REALLY struggling with the beginning of the game. The writing quality and pacing were so strange and juvenile that I had to take a break four hours in. Lucanis' quest was particularly hard for me to get through due to pacing issues. Honestly the only thing that kept me going was wanting to meet ALL of the companions, because if I can find a character that I can latch onto I'm usually okay with finishing out a story.

Then, after one of the Bellara companion quest, the writing quality suddenly became way more... I don't know, mature??? I'm not sure if this is my brain just getting used to the game, but all of a sudden the dialogue between companions drastically improved, the pacing slowed down to a much more digestible degree, and all of a sudden I was actually enjoying recruiting the last three companions. I THINK I've even noticed a lot less hand holding from the companions on quests, it was like the game just said "okay, 8 hour long tutorial over, you take the reigns, now."

IDK, has anyone else experienced this shift or is it just me? Because it was such a relief once I realised the game wasn't going to be doing the hand holdy thing for the ENTIRE 60-70 hour playtime. Sure, there's still a few things I would have personally edited out as far as exposition, but it's fewer and farther between than when I started. I'm actually REALLY looking forward to meeting my Inky~
