Canadians and the Disability Tax Credit (DTC)
Hi fellow Canadians!
My father has type 2 diabetes and we recently found out about the DTC and it being possible to claim for those with type 2
He has been considering going with this one company, True North, but they charge 20% and it seems like they just submit the form on his behalf. His biggest reason, he believes they have a better shot at getting him approved since it’s a company, now I don’t know if that’s true or not, but I’ve been trying to convince him to do it himself (I help him) but we’re sort of stuck when it comes to the 14 hours weekly part (under Eligibility criteria checklist
Has anyone here successfully gotten the DTC? Any suggestions or ideas on what he can use for those 14 hours?
We thought maybe his time spent managing his diet, meal planning, etc but that seems like it’s not valid, neither is exercise.
We could only really come up with the time to measure and administer the dosage but he says he’s gotten so good that’s a 10 minute twice a day thing
He has those digital Readers so his logs are no longer manually done either
Thanks everyone, I appreciate the support in advance!
