Self hate

So I had this crush over a girl when I was in 9th standard and was 15 years old and I liked her so much but I did not had enough confidence to ask her out so I told this thing to one of my classmate who used to talk to her. So he ensured me that he will talk to this girl and will tell her about me. So one day we all were gathered in school assembly and then the friend of mine who was standing next to my crush pointed at me and said that he is the guy who like you and then she said to me "eww have you ever looked at my boots I will hit you in your ugly face with it if you ever asked me again" and everyone started laughing and this quote is stucked with me forever since. Now I am 23 years old and constantly thinking about this I never had any gf since I hate myself.
