Are bw unapproachable/unappealing?

My question is related to the title. I’m a black Jamaican immigrant living in the US, and I’ve noticed that I get a lot of stares from nonblack men most times whenever I go out, however I am literally never approached which makes me question my appearance sometimes. Not that looks are everything, but if only face value is considered, I think I’m well put together. In Jamaica, the culture of dating stems from men approaching women, and if the woman is interested it kicks off from there. I’m not trying to project my cultural norms in a foreign country, but I’m just wondering, apart from dating apps, how is dating initiated here? Or should I conclude that I am just desirable to black men? I am in Vermont btw. Maybe that is a factor that plays into why I’m not approached ?
