Does the game get better?

I’m playing through the souls games for the first time after playing Bloodborne and then Elden Ring, and now I’ve gotten to DS3. After a frustrating time to say the least in Farron Keep, I’m now in the Catacombs and I genuinely hate them. These two environments are killing the game for me, I like the gameplay but going around these places is awful. Do the levels get better once I’m through the Catacombs?
