No multiplayer for Orion please.
- It would divert massive amounts of resources away from the story mode and its DLC.
Want more random encounters, environmental storytelling and more romantic encounters/options and such? “Enjoy your $30 Arasaka Battle Pass and preorder the Maelstrom skin pack.” Yeah, no. I don’t want Cyberpunk to turn into into the next COD/BF2042 looter shooter “most ambitious ever” microtransaction greed-slop-fest. And you BETTER believe that CD Project Red would resort to such tactics if they made a multiplayer mode or “Orion” or Cyberpunk 2099 or whatever it’s called. They already fool us once with their last bastion of non-greedy AAA company reputation, remember?
- The most integral and unique part of what makes combat in the Cyberpunk universe so cool, does not translate well into multiplayer. A multiplayer version of Sandevistan would only work, if everyone is forced into slo-mo, which would be prime griefing material. Smart Links are aimbots and Tech weapons are basically wallhacks, neither of which translate well into multiplayer shooters. Sword ricochets and blocks would make Katanas super toxic meta weapons. Let’s not even begin to discuss hacks.
The unique Cyberpunk mechanics would have to be neutered and we would be left with a generic, repainted Black Ops 3 clone, which is pointless.
Just stick to creating a multiple ending, varied approach story, thank you very much.
Edit: Coop features in games tend to either be dedicated solo games with some coop aspect or dedicated coop games with little solo content. Either way, these features are mostly half-assed and rushed, a second thought at best.
