[Spoilers C3E102] The issue with family

A sentiment I have seen come up regarding the prime deities and the betrayers is the following

"They are family! They have been at war for but a fraction of the time of their existence!" and so on, justifying why the primes fought to spare the betrayer gods despite all that they have done. Arguing for us to see human aspect/the (found) family perspective we have seen a lot throughout the campaigns.

Here is the thing.

VM, M9 and BH have held their own accountable. Have tried to get them to do better.

What lines do the betrayers have to cross for the primes to realise the pain they cause to everyone? Their body count is already likely past seven digits after the calamity. Asmodeus was more than willing to turn the weapon on them.

When dealing with an abusive family member, what hurts the most is others making justifactions for them. Closing ranks, defending them because they are family, dismissing the hurt they do to others, promising they will make them do better. But they NEVER do.

Imagine a family member arguing "We aren't going to throw him out just because he tortured and killed the family dog! It's just a dog, he is family!"

That's the mentality of the gods.

That's where I see the justification in being rid of them.
