Taste
I've been smoking cigars for just shy of three years. While I love it, and I've had some amazing cigars, I would guess that somewhere between 50%–70% of the cigars that I smoke taste the same: some combination of tobacco (obviously), wood (often burnt), earth, and is frequently bitter. Originally, I thought I was burning them with my lighter; but I don't think that's the issue. Then I thought it was my lousy humidor, so I switched to a tubidor. Then I thought the humidity was too high, so I lowered it. I thought I wasn't giving my cigars enough time to rest in the humidor, so I wait, at a minimum, two months. After all of these changes, the majority of cigars taste the same. I find this also happens with cigars that I purchase from shops.
I drink decent whisky and good beer, so my palate is completely shot.
I know people say that the taste of a cigar frequently depends on what you've previously eaten. Well, that doesn't seem to make a big difference.
Any thoughts?
