Dextromethorphan & CNS bioavailability

Sorry for the low quality post in advance.

I haven't had any luck with DXM in the past so I decided to read into it a bit. I ended up coming across Nuedexta, a prescription with DXM and quinidine to increase CNS bioavailability and learned that DXM is metabolized in the liver into Dextrorphan which in not CNS permeable.

Assuming the therapeutic effects come from the brain I decided to take a dose sublingually to bypass first pass metabolism (the liver) and increase DXM availability to the brain. This time it finally worked! It reduced and prevented some PEM, even helped me feel calmer. I was shocked!

Anyway I wanted to share my findings with the community and see if anyone else has tried this and maybe help some of us CFS sufferers out. I hope this post gets some traction I'd like to see what others have to say.

P.S. Tonic water contains quinine which is in the same drug class as quinidine and inhibits the same liver enzyme too (cyp2d6). I need someone smarter and preferably actually qualified to tell me whether or not this is a good idea lol
