Whole Brain Radiation

Hello! I do apologize if I’m in the wrong place. I have a question about my father who is receiving this treatment (10 treatments, 2 weeks, weekdays.) He’s receiving this treatment due to stage IV squamous cell carcinoma in the lung with brain metastases.

He is an extremely sharp and intelligent man. He is currently on his second week, so he’s had 7 sessions with 3 left. He is noticing the treatments are affecting his overall clarity and sharpness which of course is unavoidable with this treatment. Because of this he is quite frustrated. He describes it to me as 1 treatment feels like another click down on the gauge.

I do understand how the therapy works and what it’s effects and risks are. What I’m wondering is if anyone here may be able to share their recovery experience in terms of mind and clarity.

I also understand that each person is going to be different, especially with procedures such as whole brain radiation. I’m just curious about others and their experience with this challenge. Hope you all have a great day :)
