Nestaway Issue. Need advice
Hi everyone,
I need some inputs/advice from people who have faced issue with Nestaway company. Here is my issue....
Today morning i contacted my house owner for some cleaning issue beside my property. During the conversation the owner told me that he has not properly received the advance+rent that I had paid via Nestaway app. The people from Nestaway are transferring the amount to him partly and not completely. So, he asked me to pay the rent directly to him instead of paying via app. I told him that the agreement is with Nestaway and if i don't transfer the amount via Nestaway app it might lead to some penalty and other issues with the company. The owner went on to say , he has no real agreement with the Nestway company and I have to pay him the rent directly. I told him , that I'll contact customer support and get back to him..
I have raised a ticket on Nestway app and it says a customer care support person will connect with me in 24-48hrs. But looking at the reviews/previous posts on the subreddit I feel like I'm walking into a scam.
It's been just a month since I moved in. I know that I'll have to pay the rent via the app since the agreement is with company and if i don't, then they'll add up late payment charges and will have a reason to deduct amount from my deposit.
In order to be safe, i have recorded all my calls with the Nestway company as well as my home owner.
If any of you have come across a similar situation, please let me know what would be the best steps to take so that i don't get scammed.
