Netflix's Atypical
Hey! So, my psychologist and another professional that I've been going to have both recommended the show Atypical to me.
I started watching it and eventually made it through the first season.
To me, it felt kinda mean. Because the whole show is built around this idea that the autistic protagonist should learn how to behave. And then throughout the episodes, he's just being told what to do, and he's always wrong, and never has anything authentic to say, and the other characters get more "free" character arcs. It's like the show is constantly saying "shut up, dude, we got some talk for you now". Even if it's done with the better intentions. It actually pissed me off.
What do you guys think?
