How much sleep do you need to feel genuinely rested?

I know the average is something like 6-9 hours per night for adults, but I'm curious what it is for fellow autistics bc I definitely do not align with that.

I regularly get like 8 on work nights, and it's enough to keep me upright but I still feel tired all day. On the weekends when I'm not working I sleep 9-10 (even 11 if I'm really burnt out) to try and "reset" for the week ahead. It seems like I only ever feel refreshed when I hit that range.

I know a lot of people would hear that and scoff, then brag about how they purposely only get 4 hours (or some obscure low number). But just getting through the day to day while autistic can be exhausting 😭
