Reasons for optimism?

Thinking about Australia’s economic future and I’m perpetually bogged down by the state of our economic complexity, ridiculous housing situation and stagnant wages.

Can anyone shine some light on reasons to be optimistic? Are there any innovations were not broadly aware of? Are there any movements that are starting to make a difference?
