Should I teach myself computer science as a data analyst?
I've recently become a data analyst for a tech start-up with a background in commerce and a career mostly in business-type roles (specifically BA and proj management). While I have foundational knowledge of my tools (SQL, python, data visualization) , I do feel at a disadvantage versus my counterparts who may come from CS backgrounds and have more experience because I lack the theory or problem solving aspects that a CS grad may encounter during their course work. I don't want to be content with just getting by with what I can pick up at my immediate work because I do have ambitions of moving up and I feel that I can do this by addressing the gaps in my knowledge and skillsets. I'm doing some relentless self-study in my free time but I'm really just beginning to start exploring the theoretical aspects and honestly there's only so much time in a day I can devote to my learning commitments. I've tried watching CS50 online for the theory but I wonder if there are more focused parts I should go for as a starting point that is immediately relevant in order to not feel overwhelmed and then branch out from there. Hoping for some perspective on this.
