Can I give one week notice to my employer?

so yeah, basically what it says in the title. i won a decent chunk of change gambling on Stake (not life changing but enough to not have to deal with this bs for a while) and honestly, i'm just done with this place. working at Tims for the past 3 years and while it started ok, management has gone completely downhill.

the final straw was when they denied my request for time off for school stuff (which is like... the whole reason i only work weekends in the first place??) because i didn't give them 2 weeks notice. like sorry my professor didn't plan their syllabus around your scheduling preferences i guess??

anyway, had a less-than-pleasant conversation with my manager about it yesterday and now i'm seriously considering just bouncing. the thing is, everywhere i look online talks about giving 2 weeks notice but i literally cannot make that work with my school schedule right now. was thinking of just giving them a week's heads up but idk if that's gonna cause problems?

this is my first "real" job so i'm kinda flying blind here. like... can they do anything legally if i only give a week? will this completely screw me for future jobs? part of me just wants to not show up tomorrow because the thought of dealing with my manager's attitude for another two weeks makes me want to yeet myself into the sun, but i also don't want to completely burn bridges if i don't have to.

help a stressed out student make somewhat responsible life choices? (or at least talk me out of doing something really dumb lol)
