WFH? Can you ask when starting a new project?

I started Accenture during Covid when travel was nonexistent. I have also been on the same project since when I started at the company and am due to roll off in the next few months. I was just curious when Im looking/interviewing for my next position are we allowed to ask how much travel is required for role? Does this look negative on you if you ask? How do I navigate finding a position with travel but just not like super frequent (maybe like once a month or every couple of months or at the end of the project for Go-live like my current project?)

I’ve met one person who told me that even prior to Covid ( they had been at the company for 7+ years and had never traveled for any of role) but they didn’t really give me any advice on how to approach that situation or how to mimic a no travel/low travel career within Accenture.

Please be nice, I know that consultant culture is heavy traveling but I am currently TTC so there is a valid reason behind my concern. I also discussed low to no traveling when I was in my initial interview because I knew my goal in the long run and they told me that they doubted travel would ever go back to as extensive as it was just because how much money the client saves and because we can technically do our job from anywhere with little to no travel. Asking because my current project leaders keep saying that heavy travel is coming back across Accenture not just within my project and we need to deal with it because that is what we signed up for.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!
