I'm constantly torn between being a Christian & remembering Colonialism
Pretty straightforward. I'm honestly constantly torn with christianity. Christianity says do not worship false idols or paganism basically. But before the colonists came, where we not pagans? Were our ideologies and practices back then not valid? I am a believer in God and Christ but sometimes I can't fully ignore our traditions. We tend to be superstitious as a people, that's also technically a sin isn't it? Like if your eye twitches, if your palm itches, if you see an owl, etc. 22yr female here, I'm young and honestly just trying to figure out my faith and what I truly believe, apart from what has been indoctrinated into my head since little. *Sigh*
*****UPDATE: After going thru these comments many are saying I’m demonizing our culture and alluding to black = evil. This is not what I meant nor what I intended to mean. I realize I used the word pagan, I do now see the negative connotation it had, I meant to use it for the pure description of what it means. Again, this is just critical thinking and throwing these thoughts back out for the purpose of discourse
