Do i just throw my g14 away?
I have had this guy: ASUS - ROG Zephyrus 14" WQXGA 120Hz Gaming Laptop - AMD Ryzen 9 - 16GB DDR5 Memory - AMD Radeon RX 6800S - 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD - Moonlight White
for almost a year and a half. It’s had problems with randomly shutting down and restarting whenever it’s not on the charger ever since i got it, sometimes the screen will entirely glitch out and i have to restart the laptop, and often it will crash if i have my graphics settings too high on some more recent games. at one point it shut off entirely and showed no signs of life, had to have it shipped out for two weeks to be fixed. still don’t know what the issue was there.
the last couple days, it has been shutting down randomly even while on the charger. i boot it back up and can only manage up to 30 mins max of barely any usage without it shutting down randomly again (usually it’s more like 30 seconds to 5 minutes)
i’m so tired of this damn laptop. i wasted $1400 and the warranty is up, so i can’t get a replacement. It was my fault for not asking for a different version while i had the chance, but now im not sure what to do. have you all had similar problems? is it even worth it to take it back to the shop or best buy and probably be charged hundreds to fix it, while im sure it will just have more problems in the future?
my problem (along with money) is that i’m not sure what better laptops are out there that are both small/lightweight AND powerful. i’m always led back to the g14 as being the best. but i’ve had such a terrible time with it that i never want to get another. are there any laptops that are similarly powerful and lightweight?
