New players: Don’t be fooled by the “Guaranteed S Rank”

In Hoyo games, there is a system that guarantees a “S Rank” character at 90 pulls. Notice the language. You are not guaranteed the character you actually care about, you are given an 50/50 chance to get the character. It’s a coin flip. 50% chance you get your beloved big titty waifu, 50% you get a third nekomata. However, if you get unlucky and get said nekomata, in 90 more pulls you will get your character guaranteed.

So you might be thinking “so it’s 180 pulls for a character in actuality?” Yes! Never assume you’ll get the character at 90 pulls if you didn’t get a trash (in the meta) character at 90 last time.

The only silver lining is that it’s accumulative across banners. NEVER spend rolls unless you have at least 90 saved up to trigger a 50 50 flip. That way you either get what you want or proc it for guaranteed on the next meta breaker to come out. Oh, and if you have rolls left over after the flip if it happens early, never spend your remaining ones until you have 90 saved up again.

If you do somehow trigger the flip early pre-90 pulls, the same applies. Hold until you have 90 again. (edit)

Some players will say “it was worse before” but that’s no excuse for bad practices. “Man, I used to get scammed for 100$. At least now I only get scammed for 50$! Man, what a great company.”Dude you’re still being scammed. Copium. Don’t let them try to skew your perception. A scummy gambling tactic is a scummy gambling tactic.

I like the game, but hate that system.
