What happened to Porsche?

The title may seem a bit strange but hear me out. When I was a kid spotting a supercar was always exciting, over here in the Netherlands the highway police used to drive white Porsches and seeing one made a trip special. Spotting something like a Ferrari was a treat, a lambo even more. Nowadays, I just turned 43, I still feel that little tingle of excitement I’d I see a Ferrari or lambo but Porsche has devolved into ‘meh, just another Porsche’.

How come? Did they become so cheap that more people can buy them or are they just ‘generic’ luxury cars? I don’t like them anymore, however if I could get my hands on a cool 911 from the ‘90s I’d buy it right away (if I could afford it…).

Anyone else feel the same about the cool cars from their youth?
