Episodes to get a newbie hooked

So I haven’t watched the X-Files for over a decade and I don’t remember a lot. I’m looking to introduce my partner to the show, but I’m afraid the idea of starting at the beginning and watching 100+ episodes through the movie is going to seem exhausting to him.

Are there any episodes from any season I could show him that would get him hooked, or do I just show him the pilot? We’re really into scary spooky horror. He has a fear of aliens (in a fun way, like that’s what scares him). But also anything to do with murder or scary moody vibes would work too. Probably not ghosts or monsters to start, though.
