Is this a new event? [spoilers?]

So I’m fairly new to actually playing the game, I’m a major nerd for it but only decided to playthrough fully recently. Blah blah blah.

I was out at the lake diving with Kerfur at 3am for no particular reason (see my title,) and as I was surfacing, I saw this weird effect I think was a reflection. As I came up, there was this huge glowing pill UFO! It looked way bigger than it does in the photos I panic-took. It was slowly spinning and kept facing me, like it was looking at me directly, checkin’ me out. Then right as I was about finished shitting myself it span faster and then fucked off just as quick as it came, flying off in a circular spiral pattern.

There’s so many events in this game that it’s hard to tell what’s new and what’s not, but I haven’t heard of this before, so I at least don’t think it’s super common. Does anyone know anything about this? This event was great and truly felt ‘extraterrestrial,’ which I feel this game lacks at times. Also when I got home the Arirals thought it would be funny to launch an alien at my face so there’s that. Poor Kel has had a long night.
