question about difficulties

So I just recently hit 35 as iron dwarf, I'm just curious do harder difficulties give better rewards? It never explicitly states that unless I'm dumb so I'm curious if it does, veterans an absolute joke to me so I'm starting to dabble in legendary which is also proving to not be very hard
