Please Help a sister out
I’m currently doing my A Levels in Maths, Physics, and Biology, but my grades are really low—triple Es. I know, terrible. I’ve received a few university offers, but none for the major I actually want to study, which is Engineering or Data Science. My goal is to study in Canada, Australia, or New Zealand, but the problem is that I’ll need to do a foundation year first.
The universities offer their own foundation programs, but they’re way too expensive for me since I live in a third-world country. That leaves me with two other options: NCUK or NCC International Foundation Year.
I checked out NCUK’s Engineering pathway, and it’s basically a shorter version of A-Level Maths, Physics, and Chemistry. The problem is, I already studied 80% of that content, and I messed up my A Levels, so I really don’t want to go through it all over again. On the other hand, NCC doesn’t have a direct Engineering pathway—just Computing, IT, and similar subjects.
I feel stuck and don’t want to make the wrong choice. Any advice?
Further explanation: I have all A* in my O levels equivalent, with a 100/100 in Add Maths, and a 98 in Physics. I have always been a student athlete, and successfully presented that to the universities i applied to. My mother fell ill, cancer. So it took and is taking a huge toll on me, as much as i would like to pretend i’m fine, i’m not. Thank you for your kind words.
