Democrats need to understand that constant astroturfing is hurting them

Even the term astroturfing is getting used more and more in the mainstream and I barely heard it before last year in casual conversation.

I first got exposed to this term after the last election where multiple people on online kept claiming all their “conservative friends” are done with Trump and this would in turn get literally tens of thousands of upvotes and reposts even in conservative spaces online.

You would have thought that the elections would be close and not a blowout like it ended up.

I genuinely believed these people but some users kept alluding to astroturfing as being the cause and others seemed to agree.

These astroturfing campaigns do nothing but make the average person aware they exist, they are consistently shooting themselves in the foot and are refusing to stop.

It has gotten to the point now that it is obvious people or bots are trying to push narratives over and over and it’s getting tiresome plus it makes the power of astroturfing diminish.

The new astroturf campaign is that republicans are regretting that they voted for Trump because he is fulfilling campaign promises and these republicans wish Kamala won and it’s getting tens of thousands of upvotes and hundreds of thousands of retweets.

I actually went on some of these supposed former Trump voters pages and nearly all of them have tweets clearly anti Trump and liberal since 2015 but they’re now claiming they are recent Trump supporters which they clearly aren’t and other pages are clearly bots

These stunts just make democrats look pathetic, it is obviously fake and the reposts and upvote are obviously fake too.

I don’t know if a tech person somewhere forgot to deactivate their bots but it’s getting to the point where the left just looks sad.

I think they believe if they just fake interactions enough people would begin to join them or be demotivated and that might be true on a small scale but this is just firing up republicans more to believe they are fewer in numbers than they are so they are more aggressive in the ballot boxes than before.
