is timebomb actually canon? my thoughts + general questions
i've seen a lot of people, especially on the main sub, say that timebomb (at least the ekko + jinx part of it) isn't really canon, or it will never amount to anything due to fundamental differences between ekko and jinx (namely: ekko still longing for powder and jinx having killed some of his firelight gang).
i'm just confused as to how, even after the events of season two, people say that it's just a fanservice ship. i mean, looking at the concept artbook and ekko and jinx's actions at the ending battle scene, it seemed pretty clear to me that they've sort of reconciled/made good on their previous animosity. plus, it's pretty clear that while ekko may have been infatuated with the AU powder, he eventually went back for many reasons - one of them being to save the jinx in his timeline. yes, trauma changed jinx in many ways, but at the end of the day she's still powder to her core, and nothing will be able to change that. they ARE different people, but i would argue that it's not to the extent that people argue it to be.
it's pretty clear that jinx isn't ready for a relationship after arcane, wish losing isha and the guilt of her actions towards vi and just her overall mindset. but considering how ekko fought for her at the end, i'd be surprised if he didn't try to find her at some point in time after arcane. plus, i believe the producer of arcane said that cait and vi didn't keep many secrets after season two, meaning that vi likely knows her sister is alive (and thus, ekko probably does as well). it could just be a silly hc, but i like to believe that there's a strong possibility they will find their way back to each other after jinx has had time to heal ❤️
anyways, i'd love to get y'all's thoughts on this, specifically on the ending and if timebomb is really canon or not!
