Connect old apple display to new Macbook Pro?
My 2019 MacBook Pro was able to except a connection from an old Apple cinema display using what I believe is a thunderbolt 2 to 3 adapter (see photo).
However, when I pop that into this new 2023, MacBook Pro, I got yesterday. Nothing happens. I’m seeing a lot of different information out on the web about whether thunderbolt for will except this type of adapter. Some say it can and then I’m wondering why it’s not working for me.
The new mac has an M3 Pro chip, and from licking at the system information, seems to have thunderbolt ports that double as USBC?
Any help is appreciated. There is also an HDMI port, but I’m not sure if I can adapt the display’s thunderbolt cable to that.
