I can’t help but wonder if Katherine didn’t break Damon’s heart by loving Stefan more, would Damon be as in to Elena as he was.

I kind of feel like Damon first got with Elena obviously because she looked like Katherine and because in his mind it was a chance to actually “be with Katherine” being that the whole first season he was so in love with Katherine that he wanted to get her out of that tomb.

If Elena had not looked like Katherine, I wonder how much of a part that would play in Stefan and Damon’s liking for her.
