Explaining the zipper scene.

On first watch I thought that what happens after Sue’s nose starts bleeding and she runs to the bathroom is a nightmare and she just switched back to Elisabeth, however that wouldn’t have explained why the finger alteration happened and why she knows she can stabilize more than 7 days at a time. On my second watch I realized that after Elisabeth sees her witch finger, she realizes that the balance wasn’t respected because next to Sue she sees the stabilizer. So then why does she wake up to Elisabeth out of nowhere and what does the guts spilling out mean? Elisabeth has the answer! “She was obviously drunk.” After she gets back to her business with the biker guy she was probably so drunk and euphoric that it caused her to have a weird nightmare in which her own back opens up to her insides falling out (also a very clear foreshadowing to the second activation) and after you’ve been heavily drinking like she has (the apartment was basically trashed and filled with beer bottles) you’re most likely gonna forget a huge part of the night prior. That’s pretty much all there is to it! I know a lot of people don’t really get this scene but I think this might be the best explanation for it, I do think it was the most confusing scene in the whole movie but I also believe it’s in it for shock factor and foreshadowing more than anything.
