Clarke Slander

I gotta be honest, I've seen a lot of Clarke slander regarding Bellamy and it has to stop. People are twisting the situation so Bellamy sounds innocent and Clarke sounds like a beast. So, I'm going to clear everything up.

  1. When Clarke left Bellamy in s5:

I was not a fan of S5 Clarke, I'll be honest. I did not like a lot of the decisions she made and they did not seem like decisions she would have made in the past. However, I understood them. Clarke asked Bellamy one thing and that was to protect Madi. And he promised he would. Instead of protecting her, he went to do the thing Clarke was desperately trying to protect her from, put the flame in her head.

That was a betrayal. Plain and simple. Bellamy was the person she trusted most and she left Madi to him. He knew she wouldn't want that. She begged him not to. Instead, he left her locked up screaming and begging, and went against her wishes. Not even Madi wanted the flame but she was led to believe she had no choice.

When Clarke left with Madi, she was protecting her kid. I didn't agree with or like her methods, but she just wanted to keep Madi safe. She definitely lost herself in that mission, putting the shock collar on her had to be the top three worst things she's done in the whole show. But, she could no longer trust Bellamy. She was angry and hurt and terrified. So, she left with Madi.

  1. When Clarke shot Bellamy in s7:

By the end of s7, Bellamy was willing to let his people be tortured. When asked if he would let them die, he simply said, "I hope it doesn't come to that". No one was able to recognize him anymore. Not Octavia, Clarke, or Echo.

This one pisses me off the most because this is where people twist the story. Everyone I've seen talking about it says she "shot Bellamy over a BOOK". No, she shot Bellamy over her daughter. Her daughter's mind had the code Cadogan needed. The book had the drawings of mind. If they saw that she remembered things from the flame, they were going to come after her. And look what happened when they did? She was basically dead, there was no more life for her to live. Bellamy was willing to hand her over to Cadogan.

When she told Octavia and Echo, neither of them were mad. Octavia even hugged her and told her she understood because she had Hope. And Echo told her they'd lost Bellamy long ago. Now, it was infuriating she ended up leaving the book but also the portal was closing and she didn't have time to grab it.

I loved Bellamy and I loved the relationship between him and Clarke. I loved how much he cared for his people and his loved ones. He had his bad moments but so did everyone else. He murdered an army sent to protect them while they slept. Everyone managed to forgive him for that and even understand him. But, no one wants to understand Clarke. They all want to hate her instead.

I wish Clarke didn't abandon Bellamy and I wish she didn't shoot him. That doesn't mean there isn't way more to the story than just that. If you can forgive Murphy for wanting to hang a 13-year-old girl, you can forgive Clarke for wanting to protect her 13-year-old girl.
