Would you accept this install?
I was quoted and accepted an 16 x 440w panel install. The installer came to do a survey and I asked if we could fit 18 panels to which I was advised would be fine.
Come install and they have left with 2 rows of 8 panels with these 2 additional on top. Also, the panels aren't central in the roof... You can see a larger gap on the right of the 2 strings. The two added on top are also not central.
The installer also had to cut the floor between the house and garage to run the cable to the inverter and batteries and have left this exposed also.
I'm discussing with them adding 3 more panels to the top, centralising the panels and increasing the inverter size from the 6kW one I have and also having the channel filled.
Am I reasonable to ask for this? I'm happy to pay for the additional panels while the scaffolding is still up. I went through solar together for this so not sure whether that gives me more rights or not and whether the installer even has to resolve this. Would you accept panels looking like this? Should the installer advised that it would be 2 rows of 8 and 2 on top? Should the installer make sure panels are installed centrally on the roof?
Sorry, lots of questions and appreciate any thoughts.
