Is smite 2 a success so far?

Ive only recently started playing. Enjoying it so so much so far.

Reminds me of 10 years ago playing League with my friends hehe. Is it a big game? Can i compete in rankd etc and find it competetive?

Just wanna gauge how many play and so forth
