A Journey to the Forgotten: Chapter 2
Edenin returns to the Valkyrie mansion, already expecting a scolding. Randgriz, Reginleif, and Gondul were already there. Noticing their presence, Edenin tries to sneak into his room, but the three Valkyries teleport in front of him, startling him and making him fall to the ground. He raises his hands in surrender. Reginleif looks furious, Gondul watches him calmly, and Randgriz analyzes him with concern.
Reginleif, irritated: "You stole my Pegasus, you brat! You need to be punished!"
Gondul, calmly: "Edenin-kun, that's not something you should do..."
Edenin remains silent, just listening, until Randgriz speaks in a caring tone.
Randgriz, affectionately: "Edenin... where did you go?"
Edenin, calmly: "I went to meet a friend."
All three at the same time: "Where???"
Edenin: "To Olympus, the Greek pantheon. Jarl told me there would be a gods' conference there. I saw Brunhilde and Goll. Brunhilde is crazy for what she did—she proposed something called Ragnarok."
Reginleif, shouting: "EDENIN-KUN, DO YOU KNOW HOW DANGEROUS THAT IS FOR A SPECIAL DEMIGOD LIKE YOU? DON'T YOU REMEMBER WHAT HAPPENED IN ASGARD WHEN YOU WERE EIGHT?"
Gondul, calmly: "Edenin-kun... why didn't you tell us? We worry about you. You're special. Don't you also remember the gods of luck?"
Edenin, scratching the back of his head: "I remember..."
Randgriz makes a decision.
Randgriz: "Edenin, that was dangerous. If something happened to you, I would never forgive myself. What you did was reckless, so we have to punish you. You won't be allowed to leave this mansion for three days—for your safety, because we love you."
Edenin, accepting the punishment: "Alright… at least I can stay in and play games…"
Reginleif, now calmer: "Yeah, just don't try to sneak out. Oh, and I forgive you for taking my Pegasus."
The Valkyries hug Edenin, and he soon goes to his room and falls asleep.
That night, he wakes up and hears loud voices from the other side of the mansion. It seemed like all the Valkyries were gathered. He realizes they're talking about Ragnarok but chooses to ignore it and goes back to bed.
Edenin: "Why is this so important...?"
The next morning, he wakes up to news on his phone—the Ragnarok is about to begin. Leaving his room, he immediately encounters Randgriz, who hugs him tightly, tears falling from her eyes.
Edenin, confused: "Randgriz-sama, what's wrong? What happened?"
Randgriz, crying: "Edenin-kun, my dear little brother… forgive me for what I'm about to do. I love you so much, but this is necessary. Just take this letter and read it in a few days."
Edenin, still confused: "What are you talking about, Randgriz? And what is this letter?"
Randgriz wipes her tears and kisses Edenin on the cheek.
Randgriz: "Nothing, Edenin-kun… But please forgive me. You are our dear little brother. Never forget that. I love you, Edenin."
She disappears around the corridor before he can say anything. Edenin doesn't understand what's happening, and since the Valkyries don’t tell him much, he ignores it and returns to his room, still worried.
Hours later, he watches Ragnarok unfold on his phone. When Thor enters the arena, he becomes interested, but when Lu Bu appears, his eyes widen.
Edenin, seeing Lu Bu: "That guy is a brute… but really strong. Could he actually kill Thor?"
As the battle progresses, Edenin gets more and more excited, but when Mjolnir awakens, he is startled.
Edenin, surprised: "That thing is alive?! Why is it only showing itself now?"
But at the final clash, when he sees the halberd turning into Randgriz and falling to the ground, his phone slips from his hands. He is completely shaken.
Edenin, emotionally shattered, already tearing up: "Randgriz? RANDGRIZ! WHY YOU?!"
When all those who died in the arena are sent to Niflhel, Edenin starts screaming in tears, but instead of tears, purple flames flow from his eyes. He refuses to accept the loss of his eldest sister.
Edenin, crying: "WHY DID YOU HAVE TO DIE, RANDGRIZ?! WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO BECOME A WEAPON FOR THAT BASTARD?! WHY DID YOU DIE?! YOU WERE MY BEST SISTER! WHY IS THIS HAPPENING?! YOU DIDN'T DESERVE THIS!"
Edenin starts punching the walls of his room before storming out. Upon seeing Brunhilde and Goll, he immediately grabs Brunhilde.
Edenin, furious and crying flames: "YOU KNEW, BRUNHILDE! YOU KNEW! RANDGRIZ DIED BECAUSE OF HUMANITY! IF YOU HADN’T CRASHED THE GODS’ CONFERENCE, SHE WOULDN’T HAVE—"
Before he can finish his sentence, Brunhilde knocks him to the ground and responds.
Brunhilde: "Edenin… I guess she didn’t tell you anything. But I’ll explain it to you. A Valkyrie has the ability to become a weapon for a human because human weapons cannot fight divine ones. That’s why Randgriz performed Volundr with Lu Bu and turned into that halberd… but she couldn’t withstand it."
Edenin, calmer but still crying: "And when she turned into those green fragments…?"
Brunhilde: "Niflhel. Her soul and Lu Bu’s no longer exist. They were destroyed. She’s gone. You’ll have to accept that."
Brunhilde and Goll walk away, leaving him alone in the Valkyrie mansion’s hall. Edenin keeps crying, purple flames falling from his eyes.
Edenin: "Why is this happening…?"
But then, he hears a mysterious voice.
Voice: "Son of the Creator… embrace the abyss of darkness…"
Edenin, confused: "Who… are you?"
