Severance as a tool of espionage

With all the Helly/Helena discussion I was thinking about the concept of Lumen using severance for corporate espionage.

Maybe somehow capture a rival employee and sever them, brainwash their innie with all the Kier nonsense to create loyalty and train them to steal data, utilize subterfuge, or even sabotage. Obviously would need to be done in a way that the employee does not remember being captured and severed and has a way to account for the missing time. They could then let the employee re-integrate and activate the innie when opportune.

Alternatively they could create an entirely new person out of an innie inside an existing lumen employee and have them work their way into a rival organization, completely unaware they are an innie, letting the outie take over to accomplish their goals.

This could be used by international intelligence agencies and governments as well. I hope they explore the further reaching implications of severance and the world around them.
