Bonus Tax
Im shocked to see posts and comments about the bonus being taxed and not knowing it would be taxed. If you're in the US, that's how it works here. As US citizens, we pay income taxes on money we earn from a job. Meaning any income you received is taxed and paid to the government (this obviously excludes cash as cash cannot be tracked).
Bonuses are treated differently and are taxed at a higher rate because it's not part of your standard income.
Next year, if you don't want your bonus to be taxed, then change your federal withholding and exempt yourself from taxes for that pay period but just know that in doing so, you may then owe for that tax year if you did not pay enough in taxes overall.
