Megs Spawning but not attacking

Has anyone else had Megs spawn, circle you, and yet not attack? Since the update I've had 4 or 5 megs appear, swim around or below my boat, and then disappear. The spawn rate seems crazy high (could just be me) but I can barely get them to interact or see them, for that matter.

Has anyone seen this since the update/new season?
